From Neoproto to now, how has your perception of snowboarding changed over the last six or so years?
It hasn’t really.. the Neoproto years were the best though.. filming some kinda life was the best time of my life…
Artec is like a small family, and you, Gabe, and Blaise have been pushing the same projects for a minute now. What has kept you hear and shredding our boards?
Best boards, best team, and Blaise is one of my best friends. I love everything about Artec.
You also have a few projects of your own, Ashbury, Video Grass, and now there is a new glove company… What triggered your momentum switch from riding to running companies and how are you going to take that into your future?
I just thought it would be cool to have a brand and video company with all the homies riding for it.. something real.. by snowboarders for snowboarders.
Video Grass pushes the snowboarding that we grew up on, but there is a hole other level out there that is pushing snowboarding to unreachable extremes. How is this movement going to affect what you do and what/who you support?
I feel like the best snowboarding is in videograss.. theres crazy freeride shit going down, but I don’t like watching that as much as the shit that’s in videograss… I just like to support snowboarders who have style.. freeride or street…
Do low budget films still have a chance or is it going to be all web videos and multi million dollar productions?
I think there is a place for it all
Do you have any big plans for this 11/12 season? Anything we should look out for?
I want to film a bit more, and work on the launch of HOWL
How about everyday Nima? How’s he doing? Any cute girls or new skate tricks you want to put on blast?
Yeah.. got a girlfriend, she’s cool.. everything is really good, just enjoying life.
In one sentence, what would you want all the Nima fans out there to take from your influence as a snowboarder?
Just that you don’t have to fake your style… just let whatevers natural come out…
