We all take this thing we call snowboarding differently; what does it all mean to you?
It's ineffable, the best and worst times.
Music and art are important to you as well. How do you incorporate it all into your lifestyle?
Snowboarding is in a grey area between art and sport. the beauty and complexity of so many electrical circuits so assiduously constructed by hours of time on our snowboards are what allow us to ride the way we do. music is much the same. hours of practice give you the well traveled electrical circuits that become your tools of creativity. while the circuits act as letters of an alphabet, it is how you choose to form these letters into words and sentences that make you who you are as an artist or as a snowboarder. the two are closely related and the combinations of the two keeps my right brain occupied in all the seasons.
You live it pretty rugged up there in Alaska. Do you like coming down to the mainstream or do you cherish the shelter?
I love alaska! just has some sort of draw on me. if i had to choose one of the other id choose it any day but im glad i dont have to. the world is a beautiful place.
Do you get most of your shots up there?
I bet there are some gem spots in the unknown… just get stuff where i can.
If your not filming in Alaska with the homies, where is your favorite place to travel too?
Quebec to see my future wife.
Are you stoked on your part in Shoot the Moon?
What did this one take? im happy. it didnt take much more then alot of plane rides, and alot of goodtimes with some of my best friends. had an injury free year which is really all you can ask for. spent most my time filming with justin and riley which are two of my favorite humans on the planet.
And what about this 11/12 season? You got any plans yet?
Got a nerdy tricklist started in my notebook
