ALASKAN MAN ADVENTURES....

just undertook the adventure that every alaskan man should take at least once in his life. i drove the alcan. for all of you not in the know, the alcan is a road that goes all through canada and then into alaska. its about 3000 miles from seattle to anchorage and i was driving a 1974 vw bus, so top speeds is about 65 going down a hill, with a tail wind, while drafting a semi. theres was foxes, and bears, racoons and everytime i walked into a diner in the yukon territory it felt like that scene from easy rider. you know the one...  there was even a brush with death. when i got right outside of haines it was getting a bit chilly in the bus so i decided to hook up my heat exchangers. sometimes when they pull the engine they just dont bother reconnecting them so i figured they were fine. so about 300 miles down the road, warm and happy, i started feeling pretty strange, i thought i might just be getting tired but it turned out if the heat exchangers are faulty or have holes in them they can suck up exaust and pump it into your car. i started feeling so dizzy and shitty i had to pull over. when i got out the car i almost fell, i was stumbling around and the ground was kind of pulsating in this wierd way. i felt like puking from carbon monoxide poisoning. but after about an hour and a half of laying on my back and looking at the stars my head started to clear up. i disconnected the heat exchangers and hit the road. so it went.....
