IT'S STILL DRY IN MAMMOTH

The good news is that it's cold so they've been able to make a bunch of snow. The park is kinda sick too. A bunch of jibs, two decent jumps and a sick hip. That's what I love about Mammoth. There is always something to ride that's good. There is no real snow and they somehow built an insane park. Thanks to Oren, Chris and all the park staff for making the best parks in the world.
I mentioned last post that I went to a Death Metal concert in Hollywood the other week. The band was called Otep which is also the name of the lead singer. She is this petite blonde girl who has the craziest voice I've eve heard. One minute she's singing beautiful melodies and the next she's screaming and growling like a possessed beast, she's awesome. The first concert I ever went to was a Slayer concert. I was in Eighth grade and we told our parents we were going to some dance. It was at the Del Mar Fair and we were the first ones there. As more and more metal heads began arriving our positions fell from front row to the back of the highest bleachers. I was almost shitting myself but at the same time loving it. The band came on and we were going nuts. I'd never been to a concert, let alone witnessed the swirling mass of destruction which was the pit of bodies thrashing around the floor. We had to leave half way through but it was one of those experiences that I'll never forget.
I'm starting to get antsy to film. This has been happening for the last few years, once the season starts I want to start building on my part. I'll start watching the weather very closely and try to figure out where to go first. Last year it was Baker and who knows where it'll be this year. I thought all the videos came out pretty sick this year. For such a marginal snow year everybody had good footage. I think bad snow years make you work harder and do things you might not have in a spoiled, good year. There were only two days with good snow out at Sonora last year. Compare that with like 60 the year before and it makes those days crucial to the outcome of your part.
