THE STONES PLAYED IN MAMMOTH ON SATURDAY NIGHT!

They were insane, one of my favorite bands. Just so we’re clear, it was the Hollywood Stones, fronted by lead vocalist Mr. Dick Swagger. I love cover bands and these guys are at the top of the heap in my book. They sound great, play all the rock you want to hear and you can see them for cheap. I’ve only seen the “real” Rolling Stones once and I was a quarter mile away with about 40,000 people in between the band and me. Whereas Saturday night I was front and center with nothing but a few chicks in front of the musicians and my spot in the third row. I celebrate the cheesiness of their whole gig but also respect the talent they have. And this can be said for a lot of cover bands, they are amazing musicians, they just choose to play music created by someone else.
