Quite a Summer

14th September 2008 by Gabe Taylor / comments (0)

It’s been quite a summer. Filled with all sorts of activities that make for fairly boring story telling. One of the highlights worth mentioning was a hike the lady and I went on last week. It was a beast of a hike, 18 miles with 4,000 feet of climbing. We walked right up to the base of the Minarets hanging out at some of the most amazing lakes I’ve seen.
Another highlight would have to be Blaise Rosenthal’s art show in Santa Cruz this past weekend. Blaise has been our team leader for years and it’s been awesome working with him. Amanda and I drove over the mountains to Santa Cruz and were looking forward to seeing the fruits of Blaise’ labor. To say we were blown away would be the understatement of the month. The stylish gallery was filled with Blaise’ art, all of which told a story as you walked around the room. The oil paintings were bursting with color and texture making it seem like they were about to pop off of the walls. We shared some good times with everyone and it was good to see Andy and Kelly Blumberg, Andy Wright, Jessica, Alex, Linda and others. Beers were had and we ended up at a vegetarian Denny’s, or something like that.
Typical Blaise.
